Tell Me A Story (There are only six) – Part 6

Standard

All good stories have a challenge that needs to be resolved, and the astrological chart gives us a very simple way of sorting out those challenges. It all comes down to the opposition. What’s the 6-12 challenge?

Be Rational or Follow Your Instincts

The 6th House is the place for keeping track of things, for organizing your day, for planning your meals to fit your budget and nutritional needs. The 12th House lets go of schedules. It has no need for things. It’s about keeping you aligned with your higher self or higher power.

The 6th and the 12th Houses are both concerned with health. The 6th approaches it from more of a scientific perspective — adopting a lifestyle including exercise and proper nutrition, for example. Things you can measure thrive very well in the 6th House. The 12th house, on the other hand, approaches health from a more wholistic point of view. In this realm, being attuned with Spirit will nourish body, mind, and soul.

Tell Me A Story (There are only six) – Part 5

Standard

All good stories have a challenge that needs to be resolved, and the astrological chart gives us a very simple way of sorting out those challenges. It all comes down to the opposition. What’s the 5-11 challenge?

Do I fit in? Do I want to?

The 5th House / 11th House axis sheds light on who you are as an individual and who are as a member of a group. It can be an interesting dilemma when these aren’t always the same. This 5th/11th axis keeps us in check.

The 5th house theme is to make a mark in this world, to leave something behind that is proof that you were here. For some people, this is done by raising children. An alternate way, or an additional way, is to venture into the world of creativity — of making something that only you could make. It doesn’t have to be in one of the mediums people typically identify as artistic; you don’t have to be a painter, musician, actor, or dancer. Your creative self could shine in the way you adapt recipes by tossing in secret ingredients, or in the way you maintain your car. Maybe you have a knack for wrapping gifts, or maybe you enjoy discovering new ways of getting strangers to chat with you. The important thing is that, whatever you are doing, you are doing it your way.

All good stories have a challenge that needs to be resolved, and the astrological chart gives us a very simple way of sorting out those challenges. It all comes down to the opposition. What’s the 4-10 challenge?

Family or Career

The 4th House / 10th House axis gives you that very challenging choice. Do you put your energy into your family or do you choose to go out into the world and make something of yourself? Can you find a happy medium?

The 4th House is where you find your roots. It’s where you discover your ancestry. It’s the land under your feet. It’s home. The 4th House is where you are anchored in love. It’s where you will always matter to someone, regardless of anything that happened in your day. The 4th House is where you gather loved ones around and call them family.

All good stories have a challenge that needs to be resolved, and the astrological chart gives us a very simple way of sorting out those challenges. It all comes down to the opposition. What’s the 3-9 challenge?

Seeing the Forest and the Trees

The 3rd House / 9th House axis is about knowledge, among other things. The 3rd House is about the details, the facts, the data, the trivia, the gossip. The 9th House is about the meaning, the concept, the philosophy, and Truth with a capital T.

We hear the expression, “You can’t see the forest for the trees.” But sometimes the reverse is the problem: “You can’t see the trees for the forest.” These two dilemmas are classic challenges indicating a story striving to balance the 3rd House and 9th House.

Standard

All good stories have a challenge that needs to be resolved, and the astrological chart gives us a very simple way of sorting out those challenges. It all comes down to the opposition. What’s the 2-8 challenge?

Money, Sex, and Power

The 2nd House tells us about possessions, money, and values. It states what is ‘mine’. It suggests the kind of attitude you may have about money. (Is money something you cling to? Is it something that slips through your fingers?) Your possessions, and certainly your values, can often be viewed as an extension of yourself.

The 8th House presents you with the possessions, money, and values of other people. From a distance, this can seem innocent enough. But when you start to build a serious relationship with someone (a 1-7 connection), you slowly learn if their values are compatible with your own.
