At our most recent Meetup gathering, we had a look at Ingress Charts and Solar Returns. An ingress chart is the chart cast for the moment the Sun, Moon, or any planet moves from 29 degrees of one sign to 0 degrees of the next. A Solar Return chart is the chart set for the moment the Sun returns to the exact degree and minute of the zodiac it occupied in a natal chart. Both can be used to give, what I call, the flavour of the upcoming period in question. For looking at the flavour of a particular calendar year, then, it is often revealing to study the moment the Sun made its ingress into Capricorn at the winter solstice just prior to the beginning of the year. This blog post is about ingress charts; we’ll look at solar returns another time.
As tomorrow’s federal election looms, I can’t help but share some amazing and curious astrological signatures that are brewing within our country these days.
There is a rather peculiar technique of predicting the winner of a contest or game. I’m not sure I’m sold on it, and I’m not sure it can be applied here, but I thought I’d explore it nonetheless. It involves a study of a few specific aspects that occur prior to the event in question. The astrologer is to find when a specific aspect occurred before the game or contest — in this case, the election. Once that date and time are calculated, a chart is to be set for the birthplace of each of the contestants, and the one with the most significant connections to chart angles (Ascendant and Midheaven) should win the contest. It would be nice if things could be this simple. For one thing, astrologers would be rich!
Thanks, @CanadaCouncil, for tweeting that today is your birthday and for inviting comments from fellow tweeters, twitterers, twits… okay, maybe not twits. I am happy to join in your celebration and offer what insight I can.
Many people look to horoscope columns as the New Year approaches in search of insight for the twelve months ahead. Yet those of us with even basic awareness of astrology know that a more valid and meaningful forecast can be derived when the tools of astrology are applied specifically to one’s own birth chart. These tools can be applied to the birth charts of nations, too, making it possible to use astrology to glean ideas of the upcoming year for an entire country. As for Canada, Astrology seems to reveal that we are due for some significant change in 2014. The year promises to be pivotal.
A Lunar Eclipse marks a time of intense polarization. Setting tomorrow’s eclipse chart for Vancouver shows some interesting things to note. By the way, the chart set for Victoria BC, representing the province as a whole, is basically the same. From an astrological point of view, then, it is hard to differentiated from matters pertaining to Vancouver itself and matters pertaining to the entire province. Anyhow, let’s explore the symbolism.
